Improvements
-
Case LIB-376 SirsiDynix Enterprise catalog implementations that use a CSRF value in a header (Far North Libraries in New Zealand, for example) were not able to return results.
This implementation detail is now supported in the Library Extension.
-
The Library Extension has been updated to support pulling supported geographic regions from a service.
The names and regions supported were previously part of the published source code. This had made it challenging to add support for new geographic regions quickly. The Extension now obtains the list of supported countries and regions from a managed service, making it easier to support new locations quickly..
Bug Fixes
-
Fixed a bug impacting Hoopla results missing an 'artist'.
Some Hoopla records are missing an 'artist' field, and this was causing results to not display properly. The Extension now handles these records properly.
-
Case LIB-375 Kobo.com removed the structured JSON records from their pages, leading to the Extension being unable to identify items.
Kobo.com removed information about the item displayed in a structured JSON format; the Extension has been updated to find the item details on the page via other means.
Known Issues
-
Some Koha catalog implementations are failing to return results.
Libraries using version 22.05.07 of the Koha catalog software are unable to search due to a bug that was introduced in the source. This has been fixed and has been backported for a fix in 22.05.08. See https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=32114 for full details
-
OCLC catalogs are no longer supported due to changes in how searches require authentication
If your library uses an OCLC catalog, the functionality is currently broken and we are unable to provide an estimate for any fixes.
In Case You Missed It
-
The Library Extension now has the ability to display multiple matching results for physical catalogs
This new Beta feature will return all matching items for physical catalogs. Previously, only the first matching item was returned, even if no holdings were available. This behavior is now more consistent with how digital catalogs will return all matching items. To enable this feature, open the Library Extension configuration page and choose 'General Settings'. Scroll down the list of displayed items until you see 'Beta Feature' with the description. Choose 'Yes, I want all possible matches to be displayed'
One more thing...
The Library Extension is provided at no cost, but it still takes time and effort to make this tool available to you. Consider supporting the Library Extension with a contribution to ensure that we can continue to bring these updates to everyone!
