New Features

  • Added the ability to view details about catalog searches, including visibility into which items were not included in the search results

Improvements

  • Search performance for Vufind, Overdrive catalogs should now be improved
The Library Extension previously limited search requests to a single active request at a time. This capability is now something that can be set on a per library basis.
  • Add support for OCLC Wise catalogs, such as a Bucks County Library, PA

Bug Fixes

  • Case LIB-287 Fix broken login/logout for Hoopla users
The bug crept in that prevented users from logging in or out of Hoopla catalogs (existing settings were retained however). This is now fixed
  • Case LIB-292 Book titles including additional parentheses would sometimes incorrectly identify the book title, leading to incorrect matches
Book titles like This is my title (season 1) would incorrectly parse as This is my title season 1. This is now fixed
  • Fixed the 'dismissal' of the review prompt
The dismissal was not being properly recorded, causing the review prompt to pop up more often then users needed in Chrome
  • Polaris catalogs can now return multiple results
The former implementation supporting libraries using Polaris catalogs meant that only the 'best match' could be returned. The implementation has been updated to support returning all matches, making it possible to return a list of results for all catalogs supported by the Library Extension

Known Issues

  • OCLC catalogs running on 'version 2' of their catalog software are currently not functioning
If your library uses an OCLC catalog, the functionality is currently broken. This remains on our backlog to resolve.

In Case You Missed It

  • The Library Extension now has the ability to display multiple matching results for physical catalogs
This new Beta feature will return all matching items for physical catalogs. Previously, only the first matching item was returned, even if no holdings were available. This behavior is now more consistent with how digital catalogs will return all matching items.
To enable this feature, open the Library Extension configuration page and choose 'General Settings'. Scroll down the list of displayed items until you see 'Beta Feature' with the description. Choose 'Yes, I want all possible matches to be displayed'

One more thing...

The Library Extension is provided at no cost, but it still takes time and effort to make this tool available to you. Consider supporting the Library Extension with a contribution to ensure that we can continue to bring these updates to everyone!
