If the floating results box ever sits somewhere inconvenient, for example over a video player on a site like Amazon or Prime Video, you can hide it without turning the Library Extension off.

Hiding the box

In the corner of the floating results box, click the × button. Its tooltip reads “Hide until you click the toolbar icon,” which is a good summary of how it behaves:

• The box is hidden for that browser tab only. Other tabs, including other tabs open to the same book, are not affected.
• The box stays hidden if you reload the page or click through to a different book in that same tab.
• It is not hidden permanently, and it is not hidden for the site in general. Close the tab and open the page again in a new tab, and the box is back.

Bringing the box back

Click the Library Extension icon in your browser’s toolbar. The box reappears immediately in that tab, with no reload needed.

A note on anchored results

On some sites, the Library Extension adds its results directly into the page instead of showing a floating box, inline with other purchase or borrowing options. This anchored style of results has no × button, and this feature doesn’t apply to it. If you don’t see a close button on the results for a particular site, this is why.
